Throughout the Spring and Fall seasons, GeocacheAlaska! Inc. organizes and hosts events for educational presentations. These are typically held on the third Thursday each month right after the Board of Directors Meeting at the BP Energy Center in Anchorage. Due to the Pandemic of 2020, all of our EduVents are currently on hold. We will publish notice when we are able to resume these events or develop safe ways to deliver geocaching education while maintaining “social distancing” measures.
Educational Events – “EduVents”
GeocacheAlaska! Inc. strives to support CITO activities around the state. Keeping our public lands and recreational areas clean and well maintained is a core focus of the geocaching community. We can assist individual members with hosting their own CITO Events as well and host or co-host select CITO events. GeocacheAlaska! Inc. regularly provides additional advertising and incentives, such as door prize give away items, to CITO Events hosted by our members.
Cache In Trash Out Events – “CITO”
GeocacheAlaska! Inc. hosts, co-hosts, and helps sponsor various social and recreational events around the State. Individual members can request assistance with hosting their social events. This assistance can range from branded items for door prizes to financial assistance with site use fees or event food. GeocacheAlaska! has a number of social events they have hosted or co-hosted for many years including the annual GeoFest in December in Anchorage and the Annual Caching on the Kenai BBQ Picnic.
Social Events
Download the above form, fill it out and submit to the Board. Yes, it’s kinda old school and we’ll be replacing this PDF form with an online form featuring automated submission in the near future.
Event Support
Current members may request support for their events. Support may include financial reimbursements for Event costs, donations of merchandise for prizes and giveaways, advertising through our social media channels, or technical and instructor support for educational events. We will also work with schools and youth groups. We have a stock of GPS units that can be used for in-the-field educational presentations and activities.
To request support, download the Event Support Form, which can be filled out and submitted to the Board of Directors for Event Support. Form must be received by the Board prior to the Board Meeting before your Event. Meetings are on the 3rd Thursday of every month except December, but exact dates may be subject to change. The best practice is to ensure the form is in the hands of the Board at least one month prior to your event.
